Culture

Roughly eighty-five percent of the population in Thailand are Theravada Buddhists. This means that the majority of the Thai people believe that they practice the original form of Buddhism exactly as it was handed down to them by Buddha himself. Generally Thailand is a very peaceful place to be, this is down to the Thai belief in Karma, one of the fundamental parts of the Buddhist ways and traditions. Karma is simplified to "what goes around comes around" for a very brief understanding for most who are not Buddhist.

Classical dance is a huge part of the culture in Thailand. As it commonly known, Thai Dancing was developed from folk dances and incorporated elaborate Indian hand gestures and arm and leg movements; this probably originated from the Mon and Khmer cultures.

Muay Thai boxing is a huge part of the Thai Culture. This very deadly form of boxing originated from a time of war between Burma and Thailand, when Thailand had to defend themselves from being taken over! These days Muay Thai boxing is now a very popular martial art, debatebly one of the deadliest ever!
